MATURING STEWARDS BY DESIGN
Stewardship is a central theme throughout Scripture. Like the all-important subjects of creation, the fall of man, and the redemption of man’s relationship with God through Jesus Christ’s ultimate sacrifice on the cross, the subject of stewardship is woven throughout Scripture.
Everyone forms an understanding of what it means to be a steward—even an effective steward. Whether we are talking about financial stewardship, environmental stewardship, or corporate stewardship, few would argue that we should not manage each of these areas of life effectively.
Unfortunately misconceptions and misinformation about stewardship lead to severely skewed and even negative perceptions and conclusions about stewardship. Our understanding of our role as stewards must be rooted in God's design—in Scripture.In Scripture we encounter the One for whom we steward. The profound privilege of stewarding God’s resources and his design for life is transformational.
The Stewardship Resource Bible was born out of a desire to address:
- a void of biblical stewardship resources for foreign and domestic purposes
- the desire to encourage donors for their faithful financial stewardship
- a passion to create synergy in a movement toward a lifestyle of Biblical stewardship
